The strength of University of Bolton arts students’ talent is shining through in the prestigious 53 Degrees North exhibition’s shortlist.
Only 53 artists from across the United Kingdom will be selected for the York show and Bolton already has six places.
University of Bolton will be represented by Allyson Barton, Rachel Dawson, Sally-Ann Hayes, Anita Henderson, Karen King and Tracie Shaylor.
Entries are invited from institutions across the UK, in disciplines including all forms of the visual and applied arts, including fine art, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, glass, metalwork.
The judging panel includes James Beighton, Curator at MIMA, and Laura Turner, Curator at York Art Gallery.
The opening ceremony and prize-giving will be at 2pm Saturday July 30. The winning entrant receives £200 and a paid two-week residency worth up to £1,700 at the New School House Gallery in York
