University wins student support

Wednesday 18 August 2010

The University of Bolton is bucking national trends, showing an increase in student satisfaction.

While the annual National Student Survey found happiness with the quality of courses across England had stalled this year, Bolton students gave their university a higher rating than last year, moving up to 78%.

Said Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Peter Marsh: 'We are very pleased to have achieved an increase in satisfaction rating this year. It is very rewarding to know that students value the academic experience, professional expertise and personal support we offer to everyone on our degree courses.

'However, we know we have more work to do and we will be striving to improve service for students in the coming academic year. Our increase in student satisfaction is up one per cent on last year which may seem small, but against the national picture this is very good news.

'The National Student Survey is very thorough and provides valuable information which we use, along with our own surveys, in striving to provide the best student experience we can.'
