Tuesday 06 May 2008

Graduate Anthony Keating has launched his £90,000 supercar at a media event held at Meols Hall in Southport.

Entrepreneur Anthony has built his own company, Electromech, in Manchester. For the past ten years the firm has specialised in specialised power engineering solutions, now working with leading UK companies including Debenhams and Virgin Media.

But Anthony's other passion is supercars. He said: 'For almost a decade, through the trails and tribulation of giving Britain a supercar it can be proud of and bringing it to market, I have look forward to the day when I could share my dream with the British public.

'At last that day has arrived and I am proud that our small team has triumphed against all odds. Along the way we have had to topple Goliath and slay a dragon or two, but the result was worthwhile. We haven't had the budgets of multi-nationals haven't been bought out by Indians and Russians, and we intend it to remain that way.'

Anthony graduated from the university, then Bolton institute, in 1995, completing a HND specialising in CAD design, wind tunnels and complex carbon fibre composites. After completing his course he embarked on a short career in sales before establishing his own company.

An interview with Anthony Keating can be found in the first edition of the university's alumni magazine Origins.
