Posted on Friday 21st July 2017

Thursday the 20th July marked the MSc Advanced & Clinical Practice Celebration Day, showcasing the tremendous projects delivered by MSc students that have been helping to drive the NHS care forward. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the personal academic success of the students and to witness first-hand the direct and substantial impact of their Quality improvement projects, directly supporting the University’s Teaching Intensive, Research Informed ethos.

Guest speakers at the event were Sophie Wallington, advanced physiotherapy practitioner and Dr. Mark Holland, President of the Society for Acute Medicine. Their key messages included the importance of inter- professional education to prepare practitioners working in the NHS and social care to enhance collaborative working.

The Celebration Day was attended by current students, prospective students, mentors and employers of advanced practitioners. It provided a perfect opportunity for continuing students and any one new to the advanced practice  network. It also provided the opportunity to  find out more about the advanced practitioner role, the MSc health programmes, and the state of the art clinical skills simulation suites used to enhance clinical practice and health care services.

Students presented their excellent innovations, the dean  and the academic team were  delighted by the calibre of the student work.
