Preparations for the big move
Friday 07 March 2008
As you are probably aware, the libraries at Eagle and Chadwick are going to merge when the Chadwick campus closes in the summer. Preparations are already well under way and you may start to notice gaps appearing on the shelves in both libraries. To create more space in the new combined library, we have decided to move all those books which have not been borrowed in the last 5 years, into a store located very near to Eagle campus.
Any book which we move into store will be clearly marked on the library catalogue, and a 24 hour retrieval service is in operation. You can reserve any stored book online in the usual way or ask at the Issue desks and we will do our best to get it for you as soon as possible.
We appreciate that this may cause you some inconvenience but we have tried to minimize it as much as possible by moving only those books which are not in regular use.
If you have any questions or comments on this process, please contact staff at the Issue or Information Desks who will be happy to help you.
This is going to be a busy summer for everyone involved in the move but we will do our collective best to minimize disruption and keep you informed about any changes etc.
Watch this space!
