The Learning Enhancement & Professional Development Unit each year offers a Professional Development for Staff (PDS) Programme| to support University strategy and Continuing Professional Development. Each year the Learning Enhancement & Professional Development Unit leads the Annual Learning and Teaching Staff Conference - Thursday 5 July 2012.

The Learning Enhancement & Professional Development Unit seeks to promote excellence in teaching and learning in higher education and to enhance the quality of learning and teaching, to provide the best possible learning experience for all students studying at the University.
The Learning Enhancement & Professional Development Unit leads and supports a number of groups with a shared strategic responsibility to shape and implement the learning and teaching strategy, the encouragement of innovation and pedagogic research and the enhancement of teaching quality. Through a number of forums (University Learning and Teaching Fellows|, University Learning and Teaching Sabbaticals|, Principal Lecturer Learning and Teaching and Professional Practice forum, Student Liaison Officers) the University is building a community committed to leading the enhancement of Learning and teaching across the University.
