The University of Bolton warmly welcomes students from Nigeria and a large number of students join the university each year along with many more from other West African countries. We make regular visits to Nigeria each year and a member of the team will be available to meet every other month.
We may be visiting again so if you would like to meet a member of the team or if you would like to discuss new opportunities then please contact either the university directly or one of our excellent representatives.
The University of Bolton is located in a region of the UK that has attracted international people from a number of years. Bolton itself is highly multi-cultural and diverse and as such, international student always feel very welcome. The town of Bolton has many provisions for people from all backgrounds and of all religions and the university has dedicated prayer rooms for all students use.
The University also has an excellent International Society that all international students are automatically members of. This society organises activities for all students including International evenings, social activities and sight-seeing trips around the UK. Alongside this, the Students' Union has many sporting activities and social events to keep students entertained during their studies.
APTECH and NIIT
The University of Bolton works in partnership with both Aptech and NIIT and accept graduates onto the 3rd year of an increasing choice of Bachelor degree programmes. Currently you can choose from either of the following:
BSc (Hons) Computing
BSc (Hons) Computer Networks
BSc (Hons) Multimedia Website Development
BSc (Hons) Business Software Development
You will achieve a full UK degree in only 1 year. The University also offers an excellent scholarship opportunity to all Aptech and NIIT graduates so please contact the University for the latest tuition fees.
Entry Requirements
Foundation / Access
WAEC only with minimum C6 in all subjects including Maths and English
Undergraduate entry to year 1

WAEC plus a recognised foundation programme in a suitable subject

WAEC plus one or more years of Undergraduate studies at a reputable Nigerian University with a 2:2 average

Ordinary National Diploma (OND/ND) with credit or distinction profile
Undergraduate entry to year 2/3
HND / Aptech Advanced diploma / DNIIT
We will accept any applications for entry to year 2 & 3; these are assessed on a case by case basis.
Postgraduate

Bachelor degree with a minimum 2:2 average
English Language
We can accept WAEC minimum grade C6 as proof of English proficiency. If you have not achieved this then you will be required to complete a recognised English Language qualification (eg IELTS) or complete a pre-sessional English programme at the University.
