Welcome to the Institute of Management

The University of Bolton campus benefits from ongoing development and from a range of learning environments.

During the 2017/18 academic year, the Business School will relocate to our newly constructed building in the heart of Bolton, with learning environments tailored for contemporary business education.

Industry links and partnerships

The Business School programmes help small and medium-sized businesses across the North West of England and beyond to seize opportunities to extend their markets, embrace new technologies and improve their performance.

The University’s business contacts regularly support the curriculum via guest lectures, offering work experience and appearing at the annual TIRI employability conference.

The University has a dedicated Business Advisory Board consisting of senior executives from industry and practice in the region. This strategic partnership underpins the Business School’s key mission and vision by linking research informed teaching with real world business problems and innovative solutions.

Professional accreditation

We specialise in courses that are tailored to meet employers’ needs. Many courses are accredited or endorsed by key professional bodies regulating the accountancy, supply chain management and logistics industries.

We also work with professional institutions that don’t accredit courses, but do offer membership to appropriately qualified individuals. We work hard to ensure our courses meet the academic requirements specified by these bodies, so that our graduates are well-placed to apply for membership once they meet the experiential requirements of these professional bodies.
