Mr. Kenan Song

My research program focuses on engineering the electron band structure of anatase TiO2, by means of alloying/doping and morphological design in the nano scale. The work aims to activate the multi-functionality of the anatase phase beyond the ultraviolet confinement, so as to make the materials truly smart for a wide range of applications including low cost and high efficiency photovoltaic (solar) cells, self-cleaning for indoor applicances, air deodorant, and water splitting.
