Ms. Gillian A Lee
Professional biography:
I graduated with BSc (hons) 2:1 Textile Technology from the University of Bolton (formally known as Bolton Institute) I also achieved an MSc (Part-time) whilst in full employment to keep up-to-date with new and innovative textile technology.
Prior to this, I have a comprehensive industrial experience in the retail, manufacturer and processing of textiles, involving an in-depth knowledge of dyeing, printing and finishing of textiles through to the design, development and manufacture of various fabric constructions. I was employed within a large manufacturer of Medical textiles as a textile technologist, where I was involved in new product development, QC issues and the introduction of diversification and process modification.
Currently I am in the final year of a PhD research project in healthcare and medical textiles at the University of Bolton, in collaboration with Lantor (UK) Ltd.
The project is entitled "Development of odour/volatile molecule adsorbent materials for healthcare". One of the objectives of this research has been the investigation and development of a viable test method for evaluating the efficiency of odour adsorption, whilst the ultimate aim has been to develop, characterise a range of novel odour/volatile adsorbent materials that can be used for healthcare, particularly for use in odour adsorbent malodorous wound dressings.
