Brief introduction of research:
The subject of the PhD work is "The Effect of Varying Microwave Parameters on the Destruction of Meat Carried Pathogenic Bacteria" we have been investigating which setting and which time period give a best microwave kill in the shortest time period. Comparing ATP Bioluminescence and traditional plate count methods in doing so. The effect of pulsing is also being investigated as are real time microscopy effects.
Further projects currently in operation involve the investigation of the Magneotactic bacteria Magnetospirillum magnetotacticum and it's proposed uses in Non Destructive Testing
