After some research in industry, held appointments in the following universities: Liverpool, strathclyde, Princeton, Imperial College London, Salford, the national University of Ireland, Bolton.

Membership: Irish academy of Engineering (Founder), Academy of Science & Letters, Finland, Awarded Volta Medal of University of Pavia, Italy
