Introduction
Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour and the application of this knowledge in a wide range of human activity.
You may use your degree in the subject as the basis for a career as a professional psychologist or choose to apply your knowledge and skills in one of many other sectors such as teaching, human resource management, the police, the armed forces and social work.
The University of Bolton has a strong tradition of teaching psychology and was one of the first higher education institutions in the UK to establish a degree course in the subject.
All of our single and joint honours courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society| as conferring eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Registration. This means that you, as a graduate in this subject from the University, may progress to further professional qualifications and employment as a professional psychologist following a further period of appropriate study.
We offer a supportive environment with excellent teaching and laboratory facilities. You will be taught by our experienced and highly qualified staff who have significant research expertise and interests, ensuring you have access to the latest developments and concepts in the subject during your studies. Teaching is through a variety of methods including lectures, workshops, seminars, laboratory work and talks by visiting experts and practitioners in the field.
