Work-based learning
The School of Health and Social Sciences have many programmes that have a large component of work-based learning, i.e. where learning outcomes are partially, or wholly, met in the the work setting. This facilitates knowledge transfer and development opportunities for changing practice at work.
Work-based learning offers opportunities to learn through work, learn at work, and learn in work. We therefore offer:
-
work-based modules, where students undertake placements to develop work-based skills
-
professional courses with learning in practice (e.g. professional accredidation)
-
negotiated modules and practice-based dissertations that are agreed with the work placement
-
web-based learning
