This conference was held on 26 January 2010, at the university. Participants, managers and mentors of participants, PCT Board members, programme tutors, were invited to celebrate the remarkable achievements of those doing the programme.

Speakers included:

• Tim Evans, Chief Executive, NHS Bolton, welcoming all to the day

• Mike Farrar, Chief Executive, NHS Northwest, sharing his views on 'Leadership challenges in the NHS'

• Karen Shewan, Assistant Director for AHP's/Learning & Development, talking about the background to the programme, and the PCT's work in developing talent and becoming a 'teaching PCT'.

• Professor Keith Grint, who engaged us all with his challenging and entertaining discussion of 'Wicked Problems and Clumsy Solutions: The Role of Leadership' and included requests for the audience to do press-ups!
