Volunteering Certificate of Credit in Professional Development

Welcome

This course is a unique training programme that gives volunteers the opportunity to gain practical experience and an understanding of working with groups or individuals within the community. Not only is this course one of a kind it also builds on and strengthens the positive links between the Voluntary Sector and the University of Bolton. The uniqueness of this course means that not only can a volunteer gain a positive experience from volunteering they can also gain a certificate in continuing professional development.

 

The course is designed to enable a volunteer to successfully complete a training programme that incorporates 5 units. The units cover the essential training requirements that volunteers may wish to achieve in order to work with individuals or groups in the wider community. Once all units are completed a volunteer will be able to be considered for entry on to the BA (Hons) Community Studies.

 

The total number of hours that a volunteer needs to undertake in order to complete this course is a minimum of 112 hours. This includes a theoretical/training input of approximately 16 hours and no less than 96 hours practical application.
