Alumni meet University students at Shanghai event
University of Bolton alumni from China met current staff and students, as well as partner employers as part of an event recently held in Shanghai.
Over 60 visitors attended the meeting which took place with a view over Shanghai’s impressive waterfront.
Attending students networked with alumni, staff of the University and employer representatives in order to bring a wider perspective of their future studying overseas studies and subsequent career.
The event also highlighted the achievements of successful alumni of the University, with three graduates sharing their experience and progress.
Two representatives from local employers, Ms. Qisha Zhang, Director of Yecheng Media Shanghai, and Mr. Philip WU, Deputy Director of Beijing International Education Institute also spoke about their expectations as employers and how students should confront studying abroad.
‘It was great to meet up with alumni from the 12 years of the joint programmes and find out about their progress in the business world,’ said Lecturer Martin Sinclair.
‘The talks and networking of current students with alumni will no doubt be useful to all parties. The excellent choice of venue with the Shanghai City backdrop made it a truly memorable and special occasion which I look forward to being repeated.’
