The 2017 Health Mela will take place on Saturday 6 May at the University of Bolton.

The free event will commence at 11am in the Social Learning Zone, running until 4pm.

The Centre for Research for Health and Wellbeing at the University host Bolton Health Mela, an innovative annual event which celebrates health awareness through putting the fun into healthy lifestyle promotion.

Amongst the attractions on offer will be:

  • Dance displays
  • First-aid demonstrations
  • Children’s competitions
  • Displays and taster sessions introducing complementary medicine; Reiki, Head Massage etc
  • A comprehensive range of health checks tailored to all ages – the ‘Health MOT’

The event will be formally opened to the public at 11.00 am by Dr Chris Brookes (pictured below).


The entry to the event is open to everyone free of charge and there will be free car parking available at the University of Bolton.

This event is supported by the University of Bolton, Rotary International, local Rotary clubs, several NHS bodies as well as other voluntary organisations.
