Who We Are and How We Can Help

The University of Bolton has a dedicated Volunteering Co-ordinator, based in the careers office, on Chancellor's Mall, who can help and support you to volunteer by:

  • Providing one-to-one help identifying your volunteering requirements.

  • Forwarding opportunity information provided by the organisation to students registered with UB-inVolved.

  • Advertising a range of volunteering opportunities around Bolton and across the region.

  • Publicising the latest volunteering information and events.

  • Helping you to gain recognition for the volunteering you are doing through certificates and awards.

Registering with the UB-inVolved scheme gives you access to added benefits and services.  When you register your contact details will be added to an email list so that you can be kept informed of upcoming events and new opportunities as they become known, usually before they appear on the web pages.  As part of the scheme you will also:

  • be kept informed of Volunteer Fairs and events here at the University of Bolton

  • receive notification of any changes to volunteering policy that might affect you as a student

  • have access to the Peer Support Group which meets once a month

  • be encouraged to be a Volunteer Champion

  • have access to advice and guidance on making the most of your volunteering

  • be given priority for any volunteering training that is available

  • be invited to any regional volunteering events arranged in conjunction with other Universities

  • be invited to student volunteer social events

  • be eligible for one of our certificates or awards

Peer Support Group

The Peer Support Group is for any student involved in volunteering or considering a volunteer role.  The group meets once a month - usually on the third Wednesday of every month during term-time.  However, it is worth checking the news and events page as meetings will be announced there.  The venue may change accasionally, but you will be notified.

Become a Volunteer Champion

If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Champion| do let us know.  We are interested in students who can share their experiences of volunteering, talk to other students and groups about their experiences and be a representative for volunteering at internal and external events.
