As an International student you are welcome to use all the resources and services offered by the Careers Service. In addition we have some specific resources to help you with career planning and looking for work.
You can find out about the rules and regulations relating to working in the UK whilst you are studying by clicking on Work During Your Studies and Work After Graduation. We have also included a list of useful career resources for you to refer to.
You can find out how to look for part-time work at our Jobshop webpage and there is a list of websites offering part-time work. In the present economic climate all students are finding it difficult to obtain jobs to provide extra finance during their studies, so it may take some time to find suitable employment.
Use the Careers Service to help you in your career planning and job search process. We can help you to complete an application form and prepare for an interview, as well as help to write a UK-style CV.
We also have a number of Careers Advisers available to support you, offering drop-in sessions and 1-1 appointments.
Comparing International Qualifications
Employers in the UK may not be aware of, and understand how your qualifications gained in your home country transfer to UK qualifications. It is possible to obtain a general comparison of your qualifications with UK qualifications from the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NAIRC). A charge may be incurred if you require detailed information.
Please visit the Target Jobs information site for more general information about gaining work experience and seeking work in the UK.
