Our Careers Advisers are on hand to offer confidential, individual appointments for all your guidance needs. They are available throughout the week in order to book 1-1 appointments. Alternatively pop into the careers office which is situated in the Students Centre within Chancellor's Mall.

The Job Shop
The Job Shop is the focal point for students wanting to find part-time and vacation work. Please visit the Job Shop web pages for more information on current vacancies and information regarding national insurance, income tax and the national minimum wage.
Careers Office Resources
Our information team based in the careers office can support you to access the full range of resources on offer, from paper-based materials to computer packages and websites.
The following resources and information is available in the careers office:
Employer Directories: at the beginning of each academic year, the Careers Service recieves copies of Prospects directories and Hobson's Graduate Career directories, which list a large range of graduate employers. Call in and collect your own personal copy. This information can also be accessed on-line.
Journals and Specialist Guides: the Careers Service also gets other publications throughout the year, such as Real World, GTI Target, Target Jobs, Guardian UK 300 etc.
Student Guides: the Careers Service produce a range of guides on job search techniques and career planning. These are available in hard copy from the careers office.
Videos and DVDs: there are a range of careers-related videos and DVDs available to watch in the careers office.
We have a computer available for University of Bolton students and graduates to use within the careers office. They can be used to check vacancies, employer websites, compile CV's and covering letters, complete aplpication forms and research career ideas. (Please note - printing charges apply. First five copies free, 5 pence a copy after that).
Also, wherever possible, we will endeavour to provide information in a range of formats that meet students individual needs.
