I joined the University of Bolton in March 2010 having worked previously for Lancashire Local Authority as an Executive Partnership Officer. My working background includes project management, career development and recruitment.
Currently, I have overall responsibility for the strategic and operational direction of the university's Careers Service including raising the profile of the service with both internal and external individuals and stakeholders.
Gail Airey - Careers Adviser
I am responsible for delivering information, advice and guidance for our undergraduate students and graduates, and I am the linked Careers Adviser for the School of Education and Psychology and the School of Health and Human Sciences.
I have substantial experience of delivering advice and guidance having worked previously for Connexions and Career Services across the Greater Manchester area (Salford, Rochdale, Bury and Bolton).
Vanessa Casaru - Careers Adviser
I have been employed as a Careers and Employability Adviser at the University of Bolton since October 2010. I am a qualified Careers Adviser with over 20 years experience in careers advice and guidance.
I have previously worked for Connexions and Careers Services in West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester and have also assisted school, college, university students and adults with their career planning process. I am the link Careers Adviser for the Business School and the School of Law and I also support the School of Engineering and the School of Creative Technologies.
Deborah Douglas - Careers Adviser
I am one of the team of Careers Advisers working within the Careers Service, offering guidance to students and graduates. My background in Careers includes substantial work in sixth form and FE colleges so it was nice to progress with those students into the University.
I enjoy the stimulation of working within Higher Education and I offer a client-centred approach to guidance. I am the linked Careers Adviser for the School of Education and Psychology and the School of the Arts, and I also support postgraduate students. I look forward to meeting you.
Chris Poyner - Careers Adviser
A passion for careers guidance and supporting individuals to achieve their potential has resulted in a career spanning work in schools, sixth forms, colleges of further education and ultimately University. I am currently the linked Careers Adviser to the Schools of Creative Technologies and the Arts. My background includes continuing professional development through a PGCE and counselling qualifications, working in staff development, and beyond that active involvement in the government pilot of the emerging service for adults on careers has led to an interest in quality standards for careers information, advice and guidance.

I am the first point of contact for callers to the careers office, providing careers and Job Shop information.
I maintain and ensure that all information and literature is current. I liaise with employers, businesses and other HE establishments, as well as government agencies with regard to vacancies, regulations and career legislation.
