Postgraduate Research Bursaries

Wednesday 04 August 2010

The Centre for Research for Health and Wellbeing is offering two postgraduate research bursaries for students who wish to undertake an MPhil / PhD in an area related to health and wellbeing.  The bursaries each provide an allowance of £13,100 per year and also cover the costs of home tuition fees (overseas candidates are eligible to apply, but if successful would need to find additional funding to cover the additional cost of tuition fees).

We invite applications and proposals on any research topics relating to health and wellbeing, and we would be particularly interested to hear from applicants who would like to pursue research relating to one of the following areas:

  • service user involvement in health
  • 'hard to reach' groups
  • healthy lifestyles (including exercise and diet)
  • patient-centred health care
  • the measurement and evaluation of wellbeing initiatives

If you would like to apply for one of the bursaries, please send Professor Carole Truman |a short CV together with a research proposal of up to 2000 words describing your research topic, proposed methodology and an indication of why you would like to join the Centre for Research for Health and Wellbeing.  The closing date for applications is Friday 17th September 2010.  However all applications will be reviewed as and when they are received and so you are strongly advised to submit your proposal as soon as possible.
