These students all graduated recently. Here is what they had to say about their life and at experiences at the University of Bolton.

Yunus Morad

Yunus Morad graduated from the University of Bolton in 2010, securing a 2:1 on the LLB Degree course.

After his success on the Bolton LLB he has moved on to study for a Masters in International Business Law at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Yunus chose the University of Bolton because of, what he calls, the 'extremely high-standards' of the course and its reputation in student development and support.

Of his time at Bolton he said: 'My experience at the University of Bolton was the most interesting of my life so far.   The course itself was excellent!  I had no formal law background or education when I first started [at the university] but this wasn't held against me.  I was helped every step of the way.  It is because of the tutors I got my degree.'

Carolyn Richardson, LLB

Carolyn secured a first-class honours LLB degree here at the University of Bolton when she graduated last summer.

She chose the course because of the community feel of the campus and the professional attitude to learning from its staff: 'There were a lot of people in a similar situation to me at the University and I found it easy to relate to my fellow students. This may not have happened at a bigger school. I have a family and needed a place that would accommodate these priorities around my studies, Bolton did this no problem.'

Carolyn now intends to pursue a full-time career in Law and has been accepted by Manchester Metropolitan University where she will start her Legal Practice Course (LPC) next September.

Sandra Wong

Sandra Wong graduated with first-class honours from the LLB programme. Due to her outstanding academic dedication she was also awarded a special prize by the School of Business and Creative Technologies.

During her time at the University, Sandra was the Course Representative, a vital link between the student body and University staff. In this role she was able to contribute in a positive way to developing the programme and thus help to improve the course for the next generation of graduates.

Sandra credited the flexibility of the course and support of her tutors as the route to her success: 'The course leader persuaded me to come here. When I came to the University Open Day, he made me feel very welcome.  But all the staff that taught me were very helpful and always available if I needed them.  I didn't have problems with anyone.'

After her time at Bolton she moved to Manchester Metropolitan University where she completed her LPC.  She is now working as a Paralegal in a respected Manchester city centre law firm, waiting for a training contract.

Anthony Tur

Anthony Tur graduated from the University of Bolton's LLB Degree with a 2:1.

He's now at the University of Northumbria where he's studying for his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and for a Masters Degree in Advanced Legal Practice. Once he has finished this stage of his academic life he hopes to begin training as a Barrister in Chambers or to begin a PhD in Law.

Anthony found the lively debates and realism of the course a huge benefit, saying the course exceeded all his expectations:  'My time at the University was great. I owe a lot to my lecturers for giving me the chance to develop my legal skills.  The course itself was even better than I expected.  I can only advise anybody to do a Law degree at the University of Bolton.'

His experience studying the LLB at the University of Bolton has inspired him to become a lecturer in law.

"My time at the University of Bolton was greatly enhanced by the dedicated members of the academic and support staff.  Since starting my course I have had many personal setbacks and without their thoughtfulness and understanding I wouldn't have succeeded in fulfilling my degree and graduating.  I have nothing but thanks for these people and for the interest they take in all aspects of the student's lives".
