Full Time MSc Electronic Systems and Engineering Management
Taught in English in Germany
The MSc Electronic Systems and Engineering Management is a full time course of eighteen months duration taught in English in the town of Soest, Germany. The students graduate with an MSc degree from the University of Applied Sciences, South Westfalia (Fachhochshule Südwestfalen). Students may also choose to enrol with the University of Bolton and obtain a dual award MSc: a German MSc and a UK MSc. A minimal extra fee is charged for the registration on the MSc awarded by the University of Bolton.
Students may start the MSc programme in March or September.
The course is described in the web page hosted by the University of Applied Sciences:

Objectives of the Course
The programme aims to deepen and broaden the research potential and the knowledge base of graduate engineers. The programme builds on the well-established German first-degree (Dipl. Ing.) courses especially in Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and other non German engineering degrees. A large number of students on the MSc are from outside Germany so this is a truly International course. The masters programme provides an advanced and unique education in the systems engineering and management fields.
The course enables research and development in electronic systems and engineering management for graduates from backgrounds in mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineering. The course utilises current electronic technologies and other equally current management approaches, so integrating the management and technology strands of "real-world" engineering.
This programme provides advanced specialist education equipping graduates with the skills to integrate electronic technology, control systems design and digital signal processing in a wide variety of industrial applications and research topics.
The MSc project is normally industrially based and will involve the student in either a placement or working with an industrial partner.
Although the course is wholly taught in English, the students are also taught German to a level suitable for normal communications.

Learning and Teaching Strategy
A subject specialist teaches every module. Each tutor has experience of industrial electronics or engineering methods and all tutors are active in relevant research and consultancy.
The project will be the primary vehicle for the integration of the practical and theoretical parts of the course. The project constitutes one third of the total marks and is assesed by the supervisor and an external examiner, normally from the University of Bolton.
Staff from the University of Bolton and visiting lecturers provide some teaching on the course.
