The following websites are associated with the Design Subject area:
Design Online|
Design online is a resource available for students and teachers from partner institutes within the region aimed at helping develop a greater awareness of the key areas of Product Design and Development. Its aim is to offer a resource that attempts to answer many of the key design questions usually asked during the course of typical projects, pointing you in the right direction for further research and offering online expert advice.
Distance Learning in Fashion & Textiles|
The fashion & textiles area has a dedicated website for the foundation degrees in textiles, clothing and footwear. These foundation degrees are designed to be studied part-time, via web-based distance learning, by people already working in textile/clothing/footwear-related jobs. This website offers access to the learning resources for students on the courses.
Inclusive Futures|
The Inclusive Futures research group is based within the Design subject group of the School of Built Environment and Engineering. It aims to actively promote and support inclusiveness in design, employment and enterprise for disadvantaged people. With the assistance of the European Social Fund (ESF) and other important funding bodies it strives to provide opportunities to disadvantaged people so that they become empowered enough to identify, develop and exploit their personal profile and so eventually fulfil their creative potential.
