  • BSc (Hons) - Multimedia and Website Development (2006) University of Bolton
  • MSc - Music and Creative Industries Management (2010) University of Bolton

Previous developmental experience working in industry for; Bolton Borough Council, TenHR, Greater Manchester Strategic Alliance, North West Learning Grid, Texaco, Tesco, Salford Council.

I joined the University of Bolton as a student in 2002 on the Multimedia and Website Development degree. After graduating in 2006 I was employed by the University as a Developer working with the North West Learning Grid on the Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA) project creating animated and engaging e-learning materials for key stage 4 school children.

In 2007 the DiDA project won an eGovernment Award for Excellence in Education.

Following on from DiDA came the OCR Nationals Level 2 (NCICT) this built on the knowledge gained from creating the DiDA project and took it a step further creating a far more engaging and interactive experience.

In 2008 I worked with the Greater Manchester Strategic Alliance on the Be-IT project aimed at future students trying to promote the IT industry as a career option

In 2008/09 I worked in collaboration with the University of Derby on the JISC funded POCKET project. This project investigated the potential of migrating open content approaches in a range of disciplines across a number of different higher education institutions. This content was then distributed via the OpenLearn project from the Open University.

In 2009 I worked in collaboration with the University of Nottingham on the JISC funded Xpert and Xerte projects. Xpert is a repository of open educational learning resources made freely available for sharing and reuse from a variety of institutions around the world and Xerte Online Toolkits makes it very easy to publish content into the Xpert repository, and is in use in a growing number of institutions around the world. This was officially released in the 2009 ALT-C conference in Manchester and has since on 'Learning Technologist of the Year' award from ALT and was shortlisted for the WISE Innovation Award.

I am currently studying MSc - Music and Creative Industries Management.
