MSc IT Service Management

There is a growing need by business and industry to demonstrate effective management of its IT services. Over the past 25 years, the IT industry itself has developed a range of standards. These standards are now embedded into many organisations and businesses.

Usually the material is delivered by training companies in short-bursts of activity and themed on one aspect; IT Service Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, ISO 20000 etc.

Key to the course is developing the student to think "strategically" about IT services. It is aimed at Team Leaders, Project Managers and those aspiring to roles in higher tactical and strategic management. The core and optional modules are inter-related and include Research Skills for Business, Enterprise Systems, Knowledge Management, Advanced Business Information Systems and Procurement and Operations Management. For those with aspirations to develop skills in Financial Management (beyond those in IT Service Management practices), there is a Finance for Managers module.

This ground-breaking masters programme is one of the first of its kind in the U.K. Feedback from students is positive and the IT Service Management industry is pleased to see IT Service Management material included in academic programmes.
