Answers
I want to change one or more of my modules.
You should go to the School Programme Office (M1-22) and request a 'Module Addition/Deletion' form, [Form ASU4]| - Once you have the form you will need to make an appointment with your Pathway Leader in order to discuss your proposed changes. When you have agreed your new direction, you and your Tutor will sign the form and you should then return it to the School Office.

I've missed an exam or other piece of assessed work - What should I do?
You need to collect a MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES envelope from the School Programme Office. This form is then used to inform the School of the problems that you encountered which contributed to missing your work. You will need to include as much documentary evidence eg. Doctor's Notes, appointment cards, etc., as possible relating to and explaining, your absence. A Mitigating Circumstances Board will meet later to consider your application and they will in turn write to you explaining their decision.

I have problems at home which mean I can't get on with my studies.
Please contact your Pathway Leader for an appointment as soon as possible. Whatever problems you are facing, there are usually several options open to you, including suspending your studies for a period. Your Pathway Leader will discuss all the options open to you.

What is the last date I can make any module changes?
This depends entirely on the tutor of the new module you are trying to join and the point in the semester when you want to make the change. You should collect a 'Module Addition/Deletion' form [Form ASU4]| from the School Office and arrange a meeting with the module tutor to discuss your proposed change.

Can I change to another course?
In most cases, yes. If you are thinking about changing courses it is essential that you speak to your Programme Leader| as a matter of urgency. You will have the opportunity to discuss why you want to change and be advised regarding the best way forward.

Can I extend the submission date for a piece of work?
Sometimes, it is possible to extend the submission date for work. To begin, you need an Assignment Extension [Form]| which is available from the School Office. You should then contact the lecturer who has set the work to discuss why you need to extend the deadline. If the lecturer supports your submission, you will need him or her to sign the form. The completed form should be included with your work when you actually submit it. You must consult the lecturer who set the work BEFORE the original deadline has passed for this process to be acceptable. If you have missed the original deadline you will need to complete a Mitigating Circumstances| form explaining why you did not submit the work.

How do I submit an assignment?

All hard copies of work for Bolton Business School should be stamped and posted in the box next to M1-020. Instructions detailing 'How to submit an Assignment'| are posted on the notice board there.
