Spirited Marketing wins award

Marketing students from throughout the North West accepted the challenge to see if they were good enough to take part in 'The Pitch '07' sponsored by Brother UK, and organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing

The challenge was to use all of their marketing skills and expertise to produce a three minute pitch and present it to a distinguished panel of judges.

The Brief: "Your task is to create a viral advertisement which shows why Brother all-in-ones are so beneficial to the user whilst staying on the right side of decency…….."

After a tough day 'pitching', the judges then chose three teams to make a five minute presentation to an evening audience of invited guests and marketing professionals. Student marketers needed to demonstrate: their understanding of the brief; an interpretation of the brief to create a strategy; how to apply marketing tools and techniques – and of course style, innovation and creativity.

The University of Bolton's team – called Spirit Marketing – was the runner up! A fantastic result – congratulations to University of Bolton marketers: Rosina Fiorentini; Gordon Swift and Amy Dutton. Their tutor is Christopher Woollaston.
