Angels and Dragons

Bolton Angels and Dragons is a University of Bolton event for students studying Business-related courses at level 3, such as National Diplomas, NVQs, AS Levels and Modern Apprenticeships. The competition takes place this June and is loosely based on the BBC's 'Dragons' Den' scenario. Bolton Business School is working with Business Link and a number of North West companies to give our future business leaders the chance to demonstrate their entrepreneurial potential.

Teams from local schools and colleges will be pitching their skills and ideas to local business leaders in our own (Angels and) Dragons den.

The Bolton Business School Angels and Dragons Competition is the inaugural event of what we hope will become an annual competition for Level 3 students in the North West area. The competition aims to encourage business thinking and entrepreneurship as teams pitch a business plan to a panel of judges in order to secure their financial backing. Heats will be taking place after the A/S and vocational assessments in June at Bolton Business School.

The competition requires teams consisting of 5/6 students to be inventive and strategic in their thinking, demonstrating financial skills to present their ideas to the panel of judges. The judges will then decide on the viability of their business and financial plans, their marketing proposals and presentational skills as well as their ability to defend and explain their ideas when questioned by the judges.

The judging panels will be chaired by lecturers from Bolton Business School who will be joined by senior representatives of companies and professional firms from Bolton and the surrounding area.
