Alumni invited to Grand Designs Live

Alumni Barbara Entwistle has been invited to take part in the Grand Designs Live which is taking place 1st - 9th May in London.

Grand Designs Live voted Consumer Show of the Year is the event for design and inspiration for your home! The show is set to take place over nine days from 1-9 May 2010 and will combine cutting-edge design products, interactivity and an eco-friendly message.
Barbara, an active member of the Chartered Institute of Building Lancashire and Cumbria Region, runs CPD Seminars on several subjects including robust detailing and optimising energy and daylight to architects and specifiers. She is STEMNET Ambassador for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, working with children in schools, informing them about construction. She is one of the Inspirational Women for Women in Science and Engineering, and was nominated for one of their Women in Construction Awards in 2009.
Barbara is a UKRC Spokeswoman for Construction to help support and promote construction as a career to women, and is a visiting Lecturer at the University of Bolton on Housing Studies and other Construction related subjects. She also set up the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Forum which supports and mentors females studying the Built Environment.
