The University of Bolton is one of Britain's fastest growing universities.
We have recently undergone a major redevelopment programme creating new and exciting study and recreation facilities for our students.
In September 2008 our new multi-million pound Social Learning Zone and students' union facilities were opened right in the centre of our Deane campus.
Plans for a £30.6 million swimming pool, health and academic complex are one step closer to being finalised and the University of Bolton, Bolton Council and Bolton Primary Care Trust have agreed funding details for the project.
Teaching & Learning
The University is made up of five academic schools and two research centres.
Academic Schools
Research Centres
We offer a broad academic portfolio with courses ranging from access and foundation level to undergraduate certificates, diplomas, degrees and postgraduate masters and doctorates.
The Student Community
We are proud of our reputation of being an open and supportive university and actively encourage applications from all sectors of society.
We have a higher than average proportion of disabled students and we are one of the leading universities for supporting students with additional needs. (Follow this link for more information from our Disability Service|).
Around 13% of our home students are from ethnic minority communities making us one of the most ethnically diverse student populations in the UK. In addition, the flexibility of many of our courses has attracted students with extensive life experience and other commitments, enabling them to gain their qualification while retaining a work/life balance.
With more than 650 staff we are one of Bolton's largest employers and a major contributor to the town's income.
