FAQs for heads, academics and careers advisers in colleges and schools

What is your university doing to make the transition period as easy as possible for students affected by the tuition fee changes?

The University of Bolton welcomes everyone with the ability and ambition to succeed. We believe education is a right not a privilege.

We are doing everything we can to help students and their families understand the changes. We are making a start now, before our fees are set and we will endeavour to communicate our fee clearly, to everyone involved, as soon as we are able to make that decision.

We understand your students and their parents will be concerned about fee increases but a university education is an investment. Government figures show a UK graduate earns up to £100,000 more than a non-graduate, on average, during their working life|.

What do you do/what are you going to do to help graduates find work once they have graduated?

Preparing students for their future careers is a key strategic goal for the University. For example, we work with our students to help them attain 10 core employability skills, developed by us in consultation with employers, to ensure students meet employers' skill needs.

Our focus is on developing students for their chosen professions and we have a rich tradition of delivering courses in subject areas such as science, engineering, technologies, mathematics and law.
