Group Art Exhibition

University of Bolton student arts collective, No Image Available, is to hold its first show at MediaCityUK.

Launching with a private view on Friday 13 May 2011, the show will be opened by comedian, John Bishop. The exhibition is then open to the public from Saturday 14 May until Thursday 19 May, 10am-8pm.

No Image Available (NIA) is an innovative group of up and coming contemporary artists from the North West. There are 29 artists in total, each of whom works with a variety of both traditional and contemporary media, including video installations, sculpture, photography, printmaking and painting.   The artists have organized and are holding a group exhibition at the prestigious venue, Media City UK which will run from Saturday the 14th May. No Image Available's work explores various themes, ranging from the mysteries of the natural world, to the more controversial and bizarre. Without a doubt, everybody will find something in the exhibition which accommodates their personal taste.

No Image Available's exhibition seeks to unite both the artists and the public through one common principle, which is the ideal of art for all. One of the key aims of the exhibition is to recognise that art is a cause for celebration and at the same time is made accessible to people from all walks of life.

Despite the heavy cuts in the arts sector, the artists of No Image Available have managed to secure a highly prestigious venue within which to hold the exhibition. The artists have been holding various fundraising events, including art auctions, to enable the exhibition to go ahead. A spokesperson for No Image Available commented:

"The last 6 months have been rather challenging in getting things organised, but extremely good fun. We are really delighted to be holding this large group exhibition at Media City UK, and do hope that people will take advantage of this rare opportunity to come along and see the work of some of the up and coming artists from the region."

The Exhibition will be held in Media City UK at Salford Quays, which is next to the Lowry.   No Image Available's exhibition has already caused a great deal of media interest, and the event has, and will continue to be, featured on a number of radio stations.

The official opening night and Private View of the exhibition will take place on Friday 13th May 2011, and will be opened by special guest celebrity, the comedic genius, John Bishop.

The Exhibition will be open free to members of the public from Saturday 14th May to Thursday 19th May, from 10.00am – 8.00pm daily.
