Irfan Chhadat

Lecturer in Business and Management

Irfan is a highly experienced lecturer within the business management discipline. He has a demonstrated management history of working in both higher education and further education sectors. Prior to joining the Institute of Management full time, he was the manager for Access to Higher Education for one of the largest apprenticeship training providers in the country and has been highlighted by OFSTED on numerous occasions for innovation and precision to detail. He has also worked on a number of business management programmes for both Staffordshire University and University of Bolton as a partner lecturer. He has a decade long experience in delivering specialised lectures and seminars to students, professionals and companies of different sizes and experience.

Irfan is a qualified teaching mentor from the University of Bolton, Edgehill and Huddersfield University and nurtures student teachers to improve and refine their pedagogy as well as a qualified designated safeguarding officer and a mental health first aider as part of his previous roles. He has a wealth of experience in managing in retail which he is able to intertwine with the underpinning academic knowledge. In 2019 he achieved a distinction in his Executive MBA as well as completing the Further Education Lead programme in Education Management. He has a keen interest in widening participation including equity, inclusivity and engagement within the classroom environment. Current research interest include; SMEs, innovation and the business environment.
