New wellbeing service to launch in Bolton

TWO Bolton women are preparing to launch a new wellbeing service after years of working in counselling and mental health.

Bolton University graduates Jeanette McGuffie and Stacey Withington are launching their company - Beyoutiful Reflections - on International Self Care Day on July 24.

After relaxing over a cup of tea in a back garden several years ago, the duo thought about bringing the idea of a wellbeing service to life - and years of dreaming and planning have finally come to fruition.

Stacey said: “We have been passionate about it for years and completed courses alongside our degrees such as mindfulness and life coaching qualifications. Beyoutiful Reflections will offer one-to-one counselling, group wellbeing workshops such as exploring gratitude, building resilience, building compassion and much more. We have been working on it for a long time and we both have a lot of experience to offer the service.

“We will be working remotely initially but our plan is to open a unit for all of our community to attend once we have built a reputation within our local area. Until we can do that, we will be offering telephone calls and online counselling.

The duo have years of combined experience in all things related to grey matter - including counselling, social care, education and other psychology-based jobs.

Much of the company’s work will centre on positive psychological concepts, which they will utilise through workshops, the counselling sessions and toolkits for service users.

Positive psychology is an approach to human thoughts, feelings and behaviours which focuses on strengths and virtues as opposed to what is often labelled as weaknesses - and Stacey believes that their approach is key cog in someone’s journey.

She added: “For us it is all based on positive psychological concepts like building resilience and confidence."

“We want to help people build a positive mindset and we think it is a great way to go about counselling."

“We can’t wait to get started and we hope we can build up support and recognition once we have launched.”
